The state of God Mountain
Posted on 13. May, 2010 by TY in Travel | 4 Comments
It took me more than 30 years to visit all 13 states of Malaysia. In 2010, I stepped foot on Sabah, the final state in Malaysia. It is an unplanned trip if not for an assignment to Kota Kinabablu. Although I did not have time to visit Sipadan and climb the Mount Kota Kinabalu, but a trip to Kota Kinabalu town is all worthy.
It is quite different from Penang. People enjoying their normal life in KK, orang asli are all around me and the people are not camera shy
However, the food is a bit more expensive than Penang.
I had a great experience meeting the friends/chi mui/heng tai from Penang, Sabah & Australia and enjoyed very much to walk around and ate exotic food in KK. Will definitely go back to Sabah again to visit sipadan and Mont. Kota Kinabalu one day.

(Actually I am the driver lah… to bring them around Penang). Although it was only a short day, really happy & enjoy to shooting with you guys!
Hope can see you guys again in Penang or maybe in Taiwan:)

My first try using Canon 5D2
using 50mm 1.8 Mark I. No, I do not own the 5D2. I just borrowed it from a friend to try it out.
Personally I like the color + DOF of 5D2, but it is not as sharp as Nikon, but it is still acceptable for me. The skin color is more natural compare to Nikon, but in the below photos I have actually desaturated the colors. This is not the true presentation of actual Canon color. I think I have used Nikon too long, and refreshing experience looking at the different color and DOF from Canon. However, I think the feeling will be the same if I was a Canon owner and then switch to Nikon….LPPL!
For the next project, I am testing the video function of 5d2, shooting my baby at home
. I hope my friend is OK with me using his camera for so long, wakakaka
Thank you Wan Ling for coming out on an early Saturday.
