A “Skirttish” Wedding
I Love Penang…this small island truly attracts everyone, as well as Penang girls ….
This is my n-th time shooting weddings of multi-nationalities…and I really love it because it brings some new “spice” to my life and also a good sign of Penang as an international wedding hotspot
Roy from Scotland (yeah, you can see he is a real Scottish just by looking at his outfit
and Sim Yee from Penang have met each other in UK and had their wedding reception in Penang’s very own Eastern and Oriental hotel. The guests from Scotland also brought their ceilidh dance to celebrate the occasion. It was fun, warmth and sweet to see the Scottish dancing to the Scottish tunes
Roy and Sim Yee, I hope you enjoyed the occasion. Here are some of the evening’s highlights. Btw, and thanks to my photo buddies “luffu” & “kitoki” for joining us!

Levitation…all about levitation…
The couple, they are always in the air…jumping, floating, drifting… they are everywhere ! They have all kinds of ideas, posing at all unimaginable ways and doing things that just make me want to laugh (till cannot shoot…). They are open to suggestions and they give more suggestions than I asked for XD. Very fun and lively Ewe Jin & Jacintha, I virtually have to chase after them in order to shoot them… man, that was really good work out
What can I say? I love 2011 (so far), getting more and more couples that stirs up my creative mind more often. Here, have a look of my “hard work” (really hard to chase and not to laugh….you know…)

It is not usual to have couples that basically leave it all to the photographer, and not telling the photographer to do this or not to do that. I really appreciate the chance given to me to try out something new.
We all had fun doing all the weird/funny/odd/siao siao posing at the heart of Georgetown ![]()
Here, enjoy some of the high lights from the shoot …

“Singapore is all the same….”
“Penang also all the same…”
“But we want some thing special…”
“Penang got what special ?… …”
“Georgetown loh…”
This is sort of how we started this very beautiful relationship between Penang and Singapore. A very talented and highly skilled designers couple from Singapore wanted a Penang photographer to shoot their pre-wedding photos in Georgetown. With special appearance of the Morris Minor accompanying the couple. Thanks to Yen Keng Hotel for letting us doing the shooting inside it’s heritage boutique (well, Gary and May do stay in the hotel …
)
The weather was nice, and the couple were nice, with the very historical ambiance, Jack and I enjoyed very much taking the photos.
We shot and shot until we said ok, that was not enough… so after 2 months, we decided to follow Gary and May back to Singapore… (we were invited for the actual day wedding, both as guests and photographers…woo hoo !).
I fully agreed with Phua Chu Kang that Singapore and Malaysia are like brothers and sisters, nobody else on earth understands each other so well like we do
Gary and May, thanks for the invitation and hospitality, we enjoyed it and we hope you two have a wonderful life together…..

101010, the Perfect Day, perfect weather and perfect couple, at the perfect True Jesus Church, gathered among perfect brothers and sisters, with the perfect cameramen…. ehmm…ehmm… It was all perfect ![]()
I like outstation assignment, it brought me to places I would not have gone myself. I have to thank the local tour guide Dori for bringing Luffu and I around, without him, we probably would have lost in translation of the google map… This time we landed at SP, it is a small and peaceful town. The day started from five AM for the make up session, and I get to enjoy the morning fresh air…actually sleepy also lah~~ When the groom and the brothers arrived at the bride’s house, I really felt the calling from the supreme being to join the band of brothers (there were only 1bestman and 2 brothers versus 10+ bridesmaids)…Below some of our flavor shots!

The great thing about this wedding is that the couples are stylish and creative, unique in their own ways. Together with the florist, they have created a different kind of wedding reception at Eastin Hotel, with the red and gold Chinese theme. It is indeed a visual feast but super challenging for the photographers.
The guests are very supportive and responsive, clearly shown from the very very loooooonnnngggg and LOUD yam seng rituals both from the groom and from the floor.
Of course, not to forget to thank Keat & Thin for the delicious midnite italian dinner… yummmy pastas and coffee. Thank you so muuuuuch ![]()

Last Saturday was the day my secondary school mates celebrate our 15th anniversary alumni dinner at my secondary school hall. It was also the day, my schoolmate, Chin Teik’s wedding.
It was a memorable day, for after quite a while, I walked into the church again. The people at the church were friendly, smiling all the time. I love it
there are many photogenic faces and many activities happening during the ceremony. So many emotions and activities, all harmoniously blend in with the hymnals singing by the choir. The mood was joyous and serene.
oh, thanks for the cupcakes, Joyce… My wife and daughter like them very much
Below is the same-day-edit slideshow collaboration with my photo buddy luffu. Congratulations to Chin Tek and Joyce.
