Posted on 09. Sep, 2008 by in Blog

A friend sent me this article which I think is a good reminder for all couple especially when a lot of money is involve!

Wedding package scammer nabbed

KUANTAN: A man, believed to be the mastermind of a wedding-package scam here, was arrested in a 4am raid at a resort in Taiping, Perak, on Tuesday.

Pahang Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief Supt Zaini Jass said the 31-year-old suspect was arrested with a friend, a day after they checked in to the resort, thanks to a public tip-off.

With the arrest, police believe they have solved six cases reported in May and June where couples had been swindled of wedding packages.

He said the suspect was taken to Pahang police contingent headquarters for further investigations under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

While thanking the public and the media for their cooperation on the case, Zaini said other victims who were cheated by such scams were advised to lodge reports at the police stations.

On Sunday, police disclosed that six newly-wed couples here lost RM65,255 to a man who promised them wedding packages which included catering service, wedding attire and make-up.

Living in World Heritage Sites – “Penang & Melaka”

Posted on 10. Jul, 2008 by in Blog

I am glad that UNESCO has awarded Georgetown, Penang and Malacca as cultural world heritage sites recently.
As a 100% Penang born resident and Malacca town lover, i wish to thank all the people who have worked hard in getting this great recognition and i hope all will continue to maintain this status for our next generations.

Georgetown and Malacca are among eights sites chosen by UNESCO, i feel very lucky to have the opportunity to captured the beauty of these two World Heritage sites, the other sites are in Croatia, France, Papua New Guinea, San Marino, Slovakia and Germany. Hope i can cover all the heritage sites in the future…. ;)

A short history of Penang and Malacca
Malacca and George Town, historic cities of the Straits of Malacca (Malaysia) have developed over 500 years of trading and cultural exchanges between East and West in the Straits of Malacca. The influences of Asia and Europe have endowed the towns with a specific multicultural heritage that is both tangible and intangible. With its government buildings, churches, squares and fortifications, Melaka demonstrates the early stages of this history originating in the 15th-century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods beginning in the early 16th century. Featuring residential and commercial buildings, George Town represents the British era from the end of the 18th century. The two towns constitute a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia. – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
