Alice * Ivan

The aim was to do something a little bit different with this shoot – starting by using pregnant model Alice! The location was kept plain and simple – a hotel room, similar to the Britannia hotel rooms, which offered a comfortable but unobtrusive backdrop for the shoot. The focus was to be exclusively on the models, and I wanted there to be as few distractions from them as possible.
Rather than the ‘domestic’ feel of photographs of mothers-to-be, which I find is far more common, I wanted to capture something slightly edgier. That was also why I made the decision to include Ivan, the father, within some of the photographs. The result, in my opinion, is a beautiful collection of pictures – although much of this is down to Alice, who certainly looks radiant throughout.
Alice, a model by profession, a beauty by nature, impregnated a gift by God’s will (albeit with the help of Ivan), couple with a group of wacky & illogical “rojak” photographers, inside a hotel room, you can imagine…the chaos formed out of the ordinary.
I was touched + awed with my first “sexy” photoshoot of a couple parents to be, I almost wanted to cry… (partly because i am going to be a father soon, and thinking about the milk powder money, the baby stroller, the diapers…) ok ok , this is getting too far…
I wanted to do a slightly different way, it was my style to have a more balanced captures of the mother and father, and with Alice, anything is possible and everything is lovely.
This is not the usual homey shoot, this is glamorous, sexy, eye poping, tremendously adventurous …

somehow, they still turned out homey…sigh…ok, i am not sure what i am writing, sitting at Toh Choon Cafe, eating Tai Tong egg tart, drinking kopi and kaya toasts, under the breeze of the National wall fan…nice.
anyway, hope you like these… and wish Alice a safe delivery in November.

Nicole

Another instantaneous shoot…
A call from T2, Nicole was in town, just touched down from Kuching. We went straight to Batu Feringhi and began the shoot.
Street shooting style, stormed into the sundry shop, and thank god the owner was a really nice sister, then went on to the beach….
oh ya…thank you Jack for the wonderful lighting setup.

I have moved! As you can see you are now at TY.my, but don’t worry, Penangart.com is currently under renovation for different presentation, it will be back…someday….stay tuned 
To ensure smooth transition and a new start, I have consulted the great wisdom of the forefathers, with the help of my friend and through modern technology…. The “通胜” from my ipod For most Chinese, “Tong Seng” is not something new, but a somewhat mysterious book. I am not particularly in to it, but I do hope to get the best out of it….
Hopefully ty.my can make you feel closer to me …
